YELLOWKNIFE—United Way NWT is proud to launch its annual Tampon Tuesday donation drive, running from March 24 to 31, 2025. The campaign calls on the community to donate pads, tampons, liners, and other menstrual hygiene products to support individuals facing period poverty across the Northwest Territories.
“Many in our community lack access to menstrual products. These essential items are among the most requested—but least donated—at local support agencies,” said Linda Bussey, Executive Director of United Way NWT. “Tampon Tuesday is an opportunity for our community to come together and ensure everyone has access to the products they need with dignity.”
Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:
- Yellowknife Co-op (bin near the exit)
- For Women Only, Scotia Mall – 5610 Franklin Avenue
- Yellowknife Racquet Club
United Way NWT provides signage and collection bins at each location and will monitor them throughout the week to ensure they remain accessible and welcoming.
Period poverty impacts people of all ages and backgrounds, limiting access not only to menstrual products but also to hygiene facilities, education, and dignity. This year’s campaign invites residents to take simple, tangible action that creates a lasting impact.
