Food Rescue Receives Cheque

Author:

In March of 2018 Food Rescue received their second cheque of three in their multi-year funding. Food Resecue received $15,000 to be used toward their program during the year ahead. This program consists of collecting food that would otherwise be discarded from grocery stores and other food sources. This food is still in their sealed boxes or containers and is brought back to the Food Rescue sorting facility and distributed to other local non-profits to help feed their clients.

Food Rescue is one of the United Way NWT's best examples of the trickle down affect that a donation to our Community Investment Program can have. By giving to United Way NWT, we're able to distribute to groups like Food Rescue, who in turn support other non-profits who are making change in your community.
